SpaceX Launches Astronauts into Space in Historic Mission

SpaceX successfully launched two astronauts into space in a mission that could mark the start of a new era in space exploration.

Elon Musk’s company becomes the first ever in the private sector to fly humans into orbit.

This is also the first time astronauts have been sent into space from US soil since the retirement of NASA’s space shuttles in 2011.

The purpose of this launch is to get the Crew Dragon spacecraft certified by NASA for more long-term missions to space.

The crew consists of Robert Behnken and Douglas Hurley, two experienced NASA astronauts.
