SpaceX FORMOSAT-5 mission: Falcon 9 launch & landing, satellite deployment

A SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle launched FORMOSAT-5 satellite from Space Launch Complex 4 East (SLC-4E) at Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, on 24 August 2017, at 18:51 UTC (11:51 PDT). Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage landed on the “Just Read the Instructions” droneship, stationed in the Pacific Ocean. FORMOSAT-5 is an Earth observation satellite delivered to a low-Earth orbit (LEO) for Taiwan’s National Space Organization (NSPO). Credit: SpaceX
