We've arrived at the first Apollo video of the series. This means we are are not far from landing man on the Moon.
This episode focuses on testing the Apollo abort and decent stage using Little Joe II rockets, testing the spacecraft hardware using the Saturn IB and Apollo 7, the first manned launch of the program.
We also mention the Apollo 1 mission that would have also launched on a Saturn IB but sadly the crew died in a horrific fire during a dress rehearsal. It may be thanks to the ultimate sacrifice those men made that the rest of the Apollo missions happened without further losses.
Most of the historical footage used in the video was taken by NASA, there was a lot of different sources so please ask if you would like to know more.
I really want to be up to Apollo 11 before the 50th anniversary and so I am now rushing a bit but I am pretty sure we've still got some of the most accurate stock Apollo hardware to date for you in this video.
