Sonic Delusion, “too funky for folk”, are celebrating the release of their new single Without Warning with random acts of kindness. The Taranaki band are inviting people to share their random acts of kindness on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, using the hashtag #withoutwarning.
“Without warning is a song about how quickly our circumstances can change,” says Sonic Delusion’s lead singer/guitarist/loop artist Andre Manella. “It’s amazing how much a bit of unexpected kindness can change your day.”
The new single gives a quiet nod to nostalgic Americana, without sacrificing the “rich, colourful sonic landscape full of funky bass lines, crisp jazzy guitar riffs and warm, disarming vocals” (NZ Musician, Feb 2014) that Sonic Delusion is known for.
Without warning is the title track of the album of the same name, to be released in September 2015. The album features fellow New Plymouth band members Andre Manella (vocals, guitar), Missie Moffat (vocals, percussion) and Severin Thiebaut (keys, bass) and was produced and recorded by Dr Lee Prebble at The Surgery.
