Some Mother's Son 1996 Movie depicts the lives of the hunger strikers, when jailed in the Maze Prison during The Troubles, took part in a campaign or dirty protest, in an attempt to gain political status. It started off with them refusing to wear prison-issue uniforms and smearing excrement on the cell walls. When this attempt failed, they went on hunger strike.
