I comment on social interactions, friendships, coming out to more relatives, transitioning while being a college professor, and continuing to work on name change. I forgot to mention that I have run into former students who knew me as female, and if I actually end up chatting with them, I feel like it's way too awkward and confusing to avoid saying anything about my obvious changes, so in one instance I told the student that my name has changed, and in that instance as well as in a couple others I also emailed the student afterwards to tell them that I have come out as transgender, what name and pronouns I use now, and that this is a positive change and I am happy to talk more about it. One student never replied; the others responded very respectfully. But in general I do try to avoid former students. :-/
