Sleeve Insertion. NOTE: Peggy Sagers sews from the GARMENT side. I said it wrong in the video. When I used to put the two rows of gathering stitches, I ALWAYS sewed on the sleeve side so I could sort out all those tight gathering stitches. I now sew with the garment side up -- which is easier to get around the machine arm -- and when done, I always turn it around and check the stitches on the gathered sleeve side to make sure there are NO little pleats. If I find a little tuck/pleat/bump I take out the one or two stitches necessary, and resew that tiny part on the sleeve side. I hardly ever have any little pleats though with this method of ease-gathering the head of the sleeve. (See previous video.)
