skydive varadero 2013 - parachute out a russian antonow an-2 plane on cuba (GoPro)

Filmed with a GoPro Hero Actioncam - buy your own cam here: http://goo.gl/vQvX4e While my vacation in febuary 2013 on cuba I booked a skydiving trip at the airport of varadero (located on the peninsular with the same name). The skydiving-team brought me and a group of 4 other people with a russian antonow an-2 aircraft at a height of about 11000 feets. Even the flight with this biplane was an adventure. Inside the 60 years old russian double decker it was pretty loud and the door was open all the time so you could see the plane rising higher and higher. You saw nearly the entire peninsular from above - a view, I'll never forget! You could see all the hotels, beautiful beaches and little island around varadero at a sunny day with this amazing blue sky in the background. Each of us jumped out the airplane with a instructor in tandem formation. As my jump instructor Hector said 'get ready!' and I watched out the door and saw this damn height, I was really scared. At that moment Hector pushed us out the antonow airplane I was with my back to the ground, facing the sky above me. Within less than half a second we turned around so I could now see directly where I was falling. The first 2-3 seconds of free fall I thought of dying. But than it was just so amazing. For about 30 seconds we fall with closed parachute towards ground and the feeling was awesome! After this Hector opened the parachute and we sailed about 8-10 Minutes slowy to the ground. You could see all the reefs and this amazing landscape of varadero while my feet dangling around in the sky - can't descripe this great feeling. Finally we landed exactly at the beach of my hotel, where my family was waiting for me in eager expectation. It was the most adventurous thing I've ever made and I can recommend this to everybody who has the courage to do this. You won't regret it!
