The National Centre for Infectious Diseases will be the Singapore's first line of defence if the Wuhan virus reaches its shores. Singapore has seen seven suspected cases of the coronavirus to-date, and all have turned out to be negative. The Health Ministry said given the high volume of international travel to Singapore, it expects to see more suspect cases, and possibly imported cases. Once a case is confirmed, contact tracing will be initiated. Strict isolation, quarantine, infection control and prevention measures to stop further transmission will also be implemented.
