So I recently did a collaboration with my good friend Lee Ballard (also on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCc-XyMCSIe_ws027eKSH5ig please go show hime some love) testing out my new lens, the Sigma 50mm f/1.4 Art Lens as i knew Lee had the Canon f/1.4 and we both had a Canon 7D.
I also shot some still life shots, using the Canon 7D and 6D. I also put the Sigma lens up against the Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 mkII L.
This weekend i went on a trip to Buxton with my friend Jo, which gave me another chance to test out the Sigma lens. I have put a few images and snippets of the day in this initial impressions video, but will make this into a video of it's own.
Not too sure if my version of the Sigma lens needs calibrating, but it isn't the lens people were bigging it up to be. I guess i need to do more testing and actually testing it on portrait and model shoots which is much more of the kind of work i am used to and prefer.
Will do an update when i have used it a little more and also done a couple of portrait shoots :)
Thanks to Lee for letting me use his images and also some footage he took on the day :)
