Shovel Knight is a joy to play. A large part of that is due to the memorable chiptune themes reminiscent of the soundtracks of classic games such as Mega Man and Castlevania. But Shovel Knight's music stands on its own as a memorable collection of singable melodies. A standout for me is the theme music that plays in the Pridemoor Keep stage called "In the Halls of the Usurper". For this arrangement I incorporate my personal brand of cinematic orchestral style to highlight the epic, battle march feel of the original.
