Short Guys dating Tall Girls?

A recent story about me dating a guy who's shorter than me (5'4" vs. 5'75"). I didn't really have a problem with it but he sounded paranoied. :( Boys look for short girls but the classic "model" stereotype who is tall above average breaks the ice, while girls MOSTLY look for taller guys and it feels kind of awkward to date a short guy?
