Shocking: School teacher tied, dragged and thrashed for defying land acquisition bid

In a shocking incident, a primary school teacher was tied with a rope, dragged and beaten up by a group of people in West Bengal's South Dinajpur district. The teacher was assaulted after she protested their bid to acquire her land forcibly for the construction of a road. Victim registered a police complaint against five people including a local TMC leader Amal Sarkar. The teacher, who is from Gangrampur, alleged that she was forced to give up her land so that a road can be constructed. The district TMC leadership has expelled Sarkar.
