In 2013, 52 years later, Dame Shirley will celebrate her Diamond Anniversary in Show Business, 60 Years, and counting. Bassey started as a chorus girl back in 1953, but shortly thereafter her voice was discovered, and it wasn't long before she gave up her dancing shoes permanently to begin a very lucrative singing career. And, today now in her mid 70's, Bassey's voice is still very powerful. Bassey was accompanied by Geoff Love and his orchestra and The Williams Singers (The Rita Williams Singers). The album spent eleven weeks on the charts, beginning in February 1962, and peaking at #14.
