Together with label head Reinier Zonneveld he brings “Ski". It marks the second release in the Cocktail collaboration series, in which Reinier Collaborates with his favourite artists. Ski remained one of the most sought after tracks in both artists’ performances over the past half year. The reason for this is straightforward; the track is a colossal crowd pleaser. Ski starts with a tight, multi-layered, hypnotic percussion sequence, paving the way for the introduction theme in an effortless manner. A long stretched synth fades in, on a floor of complimentary acoustic backings. The drums are crisp and punchy, the vocal is dreamlike and elegant, anticipating the transition away from the intro. Combined with the full melody the vocal and synths form a real earworm, without going over the top. Classic analogue synthesizers with portamento slides and a sharp arpeggio keep the tension and energy levels rising until Ski goes back to basics at the start of the breakdown. The arpeggio leads the way for the vocal and melody to return, and when this happens - after an appropriate amount of teasing - Ski is pure ecstasy.
