There are over 800.000 Chuvash people (but not all speak Chuvash, mainly in villages only, the language is dying) in Chuvashia (over 60 % of population). Many young Chuvash people from cities are completely russified and dont speak Chuvash. Chuvash Republic doesnt even have Constitution in Chuvash (!) due to the harsh russification policy throughout Russia...any public protest is banned in Putin´s Russia. Indiginous cultures are normally viewed as "backword" in urban Russian culture.
