Sex slaves from World War II concentration camps Several women were forced to prostitute themselves during World War II. Some were taken to brothels inside concentration camps. Some of these houses of prostitution were in Auschwitz, Dachau or Ravensbrück. The military could visit these women, who were forced to receive dozens of men, sometimes up to 22 hours a day. The practice also existed in Asia Fifteen minutes with one of these prostitutes cost two marks. A pack of tobacco cost three marks. Outside the concentration camps, some women were taken to the war front to meet with the military. This happened mainly in Asia and they were called "comfort women". After the war, women who had relations with German soldiers were caught. Her hair was cut to be recognized on the street. This happened in France, for example (although the practice did not only cover prostitutes or former sex slaves). This is one of the darkest chapters of World War II. In 2009, Robert Sommer released a book on the subject. The idea was for Heinrich Himmler, one of the leading Nazi leaders, to increase productivity in concentration camps.
