Several dead, injured in Iran floods

Subscribe to France 24 now: http://f24.my/youtubeEN FRANCE 24 live news stream: all the latest news 24/7 http://f24.my/YTliveEN The water came on fast...so fast ...that here in Shiraz, Iran... people found themselves suddenly stuck in their cars...as the racing floodwaters surrounded them... .others climbed out of a bus...waiting on the vehicle's roof to be rescued...In this city in Southern Iran... many were killed and nearly a hundred others were injured by flash floods...Some where in Shiraz for the Iranian new year holiday and got stuck by the sudden landslides and flooding. .Torriential rainfall is currenly hitting most of the country ..With floods and floodwarnings in the majority of Iran's provinces... It began March 19th in the north. Now moving south and west, the heavy rains are expected to continue until at least Wednesday. The amount of precipitation is unprecedented, for until last year Iran was suffering from decades of drought... Drastic weather changes that President Hassan Rouhani and his goverment have said are a cause of climate change. The president expressed his condolences to the victims. and a crisis management committee was actived...But, according to Iranian media, the president's critics have blamed him for not doing enough...And Iranian new agencies have said that the hardline judiciary is launching an investigation into how the floods have been handled. Poitical infighting... mixed with environmental tragedies and disasters...a murky combination that Iranians are grappling with, as the rain continues to fall...
