The New South Wales State Emergency Services will have more volunteers on standby over the weekend as torrential rain saturates much of the state.
On the central coast, the weather bureau is advising against all unnecessary travel because of the downpours.
Meanwhile, rainfall records have been broken across northern NSW with flash flooding experienced in some areas.
