Servaas - SUNDOWN (1967)

NO COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT INTENDED - (Lynde 721) Out of New York, other than the 1969 disc where this singer is credit as DARRELL EASTON on Block Records, this disc appears to be the second of only two known singles where he is known by the curiously named, 'Servaas'. Recorded at Mirasound Studios in the summer of 1967, the session was packed with musicians playing a quazi 'Wall of Sound' arrangement by Herb Bernstein. The lead vocals are sheer perfection with lovely background vocals supplied by Peggy Santiglia, Bernadette Carroll and Denise Ferri. This fellow's other single issued in 1965 on the Tech-Sound label is equally as explosive and on both sides to boot. The quality of his recordings deserved better than to languish in obscurity.
