SENER celebrates its tenth anniversary in the United States | SENER, 10 años en EE.UU

SENER celebrates ten years after opening an office in the U.S. SENER is currently based at its Los Angeles headquarters under the management of Mercedes Sierra, SENER's Country Manager in the United States. From 2008, SENER has expanded its activity in the USA and has directed noteworthy Infrastructure and Transport projects. These include the Gruen / Grimshaw Master Plan high-speed design for the Los Angeles Union Station. Likewise, for the California High Speed Rail Authority (CHSRA), SENER has overseen the preliminary engineering of the line between the locations of Palmdale and Burbank. In addition, SENER is also involved in construction projects for the CP2&3 and CP4 sections, currently underway, in Central Valley, California. At the same time, in the area of Renewables, Power, Oil & Gas, SENER has been involved in the development of the Genesis project, two 140 MWe per plant solar thermal power plants with SENERtrough® technology, in Barstow, California. In the Marine sector, SENER's technological know-how has also been recognised thanks to its FORAN ship design and construction system, chosen to develop, manufacture and supply the new series of US Coast Guard vessels. Likewise, the company is currently broadening its horizons in the Aerospace sector, where it has a proven professional track record of over half a century and is a renowned Space, Defence and Aeronautics supplier. In fact, the North American company Sierra Nevada Corporation announced in 2017 the use of the IBDM (International Berthing and Docking Mechanism),which SENER participates in, as the Dream Chaser spacecraft to International Space Station docking system. _____________________________________________ SENER celebra diez años desde que abrió oficina en EE UU. En la actualidad, SENER opera desde su sede en Los Ángeles y bajo la dirección de Mercedes Sierra, directora (Country Manager) de SENER en Estados Unidos. En EE UU, SENER ha crecido desde 2008 liderando notables proyectos de Infraestructuras y Transporte. Entre ellos, destacan el diseño de alta velocidad para el Plan Director Gruen/Grimshaw de la estación Los Angeles Union Station. Igualmente, para la autoridad de alta velocidad de California CHSRA, SENER se ha encargado de la ingeniería preliminar de la línea entre las localidades de Palmdale y de Burbank,una sección que atraviesa las montañas de San Gabriel. Además, SENER participa en proyectos constructivos para los segmentos CP2&3 y CP4, actualmente en curso, en el Valle Central de California. En paralelo, en el área de Renovables, Power, Oil & Gas, SENER ha participado en el desarrollo de dos centrales de energía solar termoeléctrica, el proyecto Genesis, de 140 MWe por planta y tecnología SENERtrough®, ubicadas en Barstow, California. Además, en el ámbito Naval, las capacidades tecnológicas de SENER han sido reconocidas a través de su sistema de diseño y construcción de buques FORAN, escogido para desarrollar, construir y suministrar la nueva serie de buques del US Coast Guard. Igualmente, la empresa está explorando oportunidades en el sector Aeroespacial, donde cuenta con más de medio siglo de trayectoria y es un suministrador reputado en Espacio, Defensa y Aeronáutica. De hecho, en 2017 la empresa norteamericana Sierra Nevada Corporation anunció el uso del IBDM (International Berthing and Docking Mechanism), en el que participa SENER, como sistema de acoplamiento de su vehículo espacial Dream Chaser a la Estación Espacial Internacional.
