This video is by Janet J. Knodel, an extension entomologist at North Dakota State University, who writes, "Two-spotted spider mites (Tetranychus urticae) can be a severe pest problem in field corn, especially during hot and dry seasons. Early detection of leaf injury symptoms, such as stippling and leaf discoloration, is important to prevent crop damage from two-spotted spider mites and facilitate rescue treatments. Proper scouting techniques and action thresholds for two-spotted spider mites in field corn in North Dakota are discussed." This video was submitted to the Extension category of the 2012 ESA YouTube Your Entomology contest.
