Saudi Hajj crush kills 220 - BBC News

(Number of dead & injured are constantly being updated) Saudi-owned state television is reporting that 150 people have been killed and almost 450 injured in a crush outside the holy city of Mecca during the hajj pilgrimage. Around 2 million white-clad faithful are attending the peak of the pilgrimage. The Hajj is among the five pillars of Islam and every capable Muslim must perform it at least once in a lifetime. For many, it is the spiritual peak of their lives.
