Note: The island fox is already dead when A-40 brings it to the nest.
A-40 flies in with an adult island fox - he is out of breath from carrying it to the nest. Soon Saucy can be heard and flies in and does an impressive mantle over it for several minutes. Corsair flies in and goes to check it out and pulls on the tail trying to get a bite but is unsuccessful and has to go to the side of the nest and wait his turn as Saucy has first dibs. The feeding goes on a long time after the video ends - Corsair gets plenty to eat after Saucy is full. HP did not come to the nest during the feeding at all. This is the 5th fox brought to the nest this season. The Channel Islands National Park is monitoring the taking of foxes by the Sauces nest. Annie Little the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Biologist for the Channel Islands has asked the IWS to let her know when we see a fox taken. I'm sure they are just monitoring as this amount would not endanger the foxes.Thank you for watching!
