Keyboard Commands for efficiency!
These working on OS X El Capitan MacBook Air
To help make keyboards commands quick and easy to get to to. Memorize the 4 pack of modifier keys with left hand four fingers (small Mac keyboards) - from left to right: function, control, option, command
Text to Speech (for selected text):
Settings:
Settings - Dictation and Speech - Text to Speech - check Speak Selected text when key is pressed (default is Option+Escape)
Make use of full screen!
Control+Command+F to enter and exit full screen
Commands and controls on a Safari Webpage…
"Command +" and "Command -" for larger and smaller text (pages without Reader feature will zoom whole page, under view menu you can select "zoom text only")
Command+Shift+R to enter Reader mode
Command+A to select all text
Option+Escape to read all highlighted text
Function+Arrow keys up and down to navigate page (or two finger scroll on track pad)
Also Spacebar and Shift+Spacebar to navigate page
Command+Up arrow to go to the top
Command+Down arrow to go to the end
Escape OR Command+Shift+R to dismiss Reader
