This badass knife was hand made in the Russian prison system. Knives were allowed to be made and sold to generate revenue for the prisons up through the 1960's. It is made of 4 solid pieces of stainless steel including the blade. The wicked 5" Tanto blade was ground from the same pieces as the handles and features a blood-groove. The blade is stamped with the Soviet Star and "GERBER". This is not an American Gerber knife. Typical with Russian prison knives it features a blood-groove on the blade, industrial screws, an exposed button rocker, and the swinguard is a single wrap-around piece. The wood scales are set into flat-ground areas of solid stainless steel. Everything was hand ground. This knife is 10 1/2" overall, very heavy, sleek, solid, and fires like a bullet. It resides on my nightstand when I sleep at night. Please click on the thumbnail image under the title to see all of 'Switchblade Collectors Review" videos.
