Russia: One militant killed, three detained in counter-terrorism op in Dagestan - NAK

One militant was killed in a firefight with Russian Special Forces in the Dagestan town of Derbent, Sunday, according to a statement by the National Counter-terrorism Committee (NAK). Three other militants were detained during the operation. Footage from the scene shows the weapons and ammunition found in the aftermath of the incident. The militant was reportedly killed after he opened fire on the officers who had surrounded a house where the suspect was believed to be hiding. A wide range of weapons was found during a search of the premises. The four militants are believed to have had links to the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL).
