Russia: "Eastern Military District on full combat alert" - Shoigu

W/S Officials seated in Russian Defence Ministry C/U Documents SCRIPT Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu spoke in Moscow on Thursday about President Vladimir Putin’s order to place Russia’s Eastern Military District on full combat alert to test their readiness in the event of an attack. According to Shoigu, the test is important but a routine procedure that will run until September 18. In this period, major military exercises will be staged ,most likely involving air, land and sea forces. Russia is divided into four command centres; the Eastern Military District extends from the republics of Buryatia and Sakha to the Pacific and Arctic oceans in the east and north.
