Here are two basic running styles for above knee amputees trying to learn how to run. It is difficult to find information on running for AK amputees because there are so few. Both bent knee or step over step running and circumduct or strait leg running styles are possible to learn. It took me almost three years from amputation before I could start learning to run. Some amputees only learn one or the other. By practicing you can master both. Each has its advantages and it's really up to the individual. I personally had 25 years between loosing my ability to run and gaining it back in 2015. My leg could not run but a few feet at the beginning and my good leg suffered from shin splints for months until my muscles began to adjust to the impact of running. For more info on running as an amputee see more videos on my channel No Limits Amputee or check out amputeebladerunners.org
