ROMAFEST GYPSY ENSEMBLE TG-MURES, ROMANIA-TRANSYLVANIA Our Ensemble is the accomplishment of The Transylvanian Gypsy Song and Dance Festival organized in Gornesti (Romania, Mures region) since 1997, and then continued in Targu-Mures starting in 2003. With the wholehearted support of the N.P.O. ROMAFEST JAPAN we realized to gather the most talented gypsy musicians and dancers from Transylvania. Our objective is to collect and conserve the Transylvanian gypsy folk culture. The parent and patronizer of this initiative is Mr. TETSUO MASUNAGA from Japan, a producer and a confirmed lover of East-European folk culture. He is laureate of the most highly state distinctions of Slovakia and Hungary for promoting their national culture all over the World. From 27 years, he is doing this activity in Romania, especially in Transylvania too. The proof of high artistic value of the ROMAFEST GYPSY ENSEMBLE are the friendship relations completed and developed with folk ensembles all over Europe: the State Folk Ensemble of Macedonia-TANEC; the State Folk Ensemble of Czech-ONDRAS; the Slovakian National Folk Ensemble-SLUK; the National Folk Ensemble of Lithuania-LIETUVA; the Hungarian National Folk Ensemble-BUDAPEST; the National Folk Ensemble TRANSILVANIA- Romania; the National Folk Ensemble MAROS- Romania, the successful 50 days Tour of Japan in 2005, and the enormous successes in different shows all over EUROPE: HUNGARY-2005; SWITZERLAND-2006; SLOVAKIA&CZEH REPUBLIK; POLAND-2007.
