Rode Video Mic vs Rode SVM

Here is a video comparing the Rode video mic to the Rode SVM (Stereo Video Mic). The Rode Video Mic has more gain for sure but at the expense of sounding like there is a motor running on a motor cycle next to you when you are recording (low end noise). The Rode SVM picks up much more ambient sounds liks birds in the background. The SVM sounds much more crisp in its sound and more defined. I can see why Rode decided to make both of these mics. They both have their uses however for ambient sounds the SVM wins by a land slide. The stereo video mic is best when used in a controlled sound environment for dedication, other than that not so usefull. I do not think I will be pulling my Rode video mic out of the camera bag that often.
