Rocking Horse Winter II Horse Trials - Novice Cross Country Helmet Cam

Okie dokie everyone! Here's my first helmet cam of the 2016 season!! What a trip!!!!! Rebel and I had a blast spending 11 days in Florida and competing in Rocking Horse Winter II Horse Trials!!! I wish I could still be riding in 80 degree Florida instead of 30 degree Kentucky.....but it was a blast while it lasted and I'm so thrilled that I had this opportunity! Anyway, Rocking Horse was so much fun! Because this was our first event since the American Eventing Championships in September, I decided to run Novice as a warm up. Rebel was a star! We scored a 31.0 in dressage, jumped double clear in show jumping (one of our smoothest show jumping rounds ever!) and double clear on a super fun cross country course! Although out on xc I learned that the hackamore we'd been using since the beginning of last season is no longer........effective........ Rebel was great with it in show jumping and even xc warm up, but as soon as we left the start box there was no stopping him! The more I pulled the more he pulled right back and ran faster. Sooooooo I didn't have much control and we had a few messy fences, but we survived! HAHA! At least I found this out at Novice instead of Training! We'll be trying out some new bits before we move back up in April! Anyway! We finished 5th! I'm so happy with how our first event went!
