If you were one of those people not happy about the new suit RoboCop will be sporting in next year's remake, maybe a look at how well it goes with his new ride will help change your mind.
RoboCop is busy shooting in Toronto and it looks like Joel Kinnaman's Alex Murphy will be trading in the Ford Taurus from the original films for a sleek new all-black motorcycle that matches perfectly with his slim downed RoboCop suit. The switch may leave some hardcore fans angry about the change, but a motorcycle does make a lot more sense. Considering Peter Weller's original RoboCop had trouble getting his bulky self into his police car, trying to mount a motorcycle would have been a futile endeavor. The streamlined look of the new suit shows a RoboCop ready for action and a motorcycle does give him much more maneuverability. Plus, it's not like he was ever actually arresting anyone, so there's really no need for a back seat.
We'll get to see the new RoboBike in action when RoboCop hits theaters August 9th, 2013. In addition to Kinnaman, the film stars Michael Keaton as evil OmniCorp CEO Raymond Sellars, Michael Kenneth Williams as partner Jack Lewis, Samuel L. Jackson as media mogual Pat Novak and Gary Oldman as the creator of the RoboCop technology.
What do you think of RoboCop's new means of taking on the bad guys of Old Detroit? Are you liking the new direction the film is taking or would you rather they stick with what worked in the original?
