RK Nagar By-Polls: EC Allots 'Boat' Symbol to Deepa Jayakumar | 'படகோட்டி' ஆனார் தீபா | YOYOTV Tamil

MGR Amma Deepa Peravai founder Deepa Jayakumar has been allotted 'boat' symbol by the Election Commission to contest in the RK Nagar by-election slated to be held on April 12. Deepa Jayakumar : Deepa Jayakumar is a rising profile in Tamil Nadu politics. She is increasingly being seen as the most potent threat that V K Sasikala may have to face in the future. Not being allowed to even come closer to any AIADMK functions, Deepa is all set to launch a new political party. Lots of AIADMK supporters, particularly young voters, are goading her to do so at the earliest. She did that on 69th birth anniversary of Late Jayalalitha. She announced the formation of a forum named MGR Amma Deepa Peravai and also declared her candidature in the by election to the prestigious R K Nagar Constituency which feel vacant by thf Jayalalitha. Contrary to expectation, she didn't announce about a new political outfit. She is still hoping to grab AIADMK. Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar is a legislative assembly constituency in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It was part of Chennai North (Lok Sabha constituency). With less than three weeks to go for the by-elections in Chennai's RK Nagar, confusion prevailed as the AIADMK now has two poll symbols -- hat and electric pole. Following a power tussle, the party was split between Sasikala and Panneerselvam factions. Both groups wanted the party's name and two leaves symbol. K Padma, flower seller, said, "I used to vote for J Jayalalithaa, but this time I am confused and I've decided not to vote as the party is split." Schoolteacher M Zareen also said that it is quite confusing. "People in RK Nagar can't decide whom to vote for," the RK Nagar resident said.
