Nixes Rise of the Tomb Raider PC version is now available and is quite the demanding game although does have a wealth of options to tweak so as to run well on multiple PC configurations. We've sampled the game at Max settings bumping up the details beyond the game's Very High preset option using an i5 3570K CPU, GTX 980 Ti GPU, 16 GB RAM, Win 10 64 Bit OS. We're running the game at 1080p with Vsync OFF. We're also using the more friendly FXAA option as opposed to the more expensive SMAAx2 and upwards versions (although we found not a huge difference when switching to standard SMAA over FXAA).
What users have to be wary of is that the game offers a cinematic opening which isn't fully reflected in the rest of the game. There are more open areas which prove to be much more demanding than the opening level. So we've captured footage from here to give you an idea. If you check the performance on the top left of the screen you'll see the GPU and CPU usage alongside some other useful bits of info like GPU temp and fan speed percentage.
Note: Hair is on the ON setting rather than Very High - see new video with Hair on V. High setting.
