A rebuild of the Sears and Roebuck 108.1501 Power Hacksaw as well as the GE 5KH45KB21 1/3 HP 1725 RPM motor. (extra footage of me cleaning motor parts starts at 6:52) The hacksaw just needed some cleaning and re-oiling as seen in the video. And, given enough time, will cut through basically anything under 4x4 inches. However, the GE motor was another story. My GE motor had probably been used on some kind of sewing/textile machine, as it was filled with oily fabric fuzz, and was sometimes found on this type of machine. That was only a minor issue, as the cables inside were missing most of their insulation. However, it wasn't anything a bit of new wire and heat shrink tubing couldn't fix. As mentioned earlier, the motor is 1/3HP, and runs at 1725 RPM. It's some kind of single-phase induction motor from around the 1920s, but somehow it doesn't need a starter capacitor to offset the starter winding (if it even has one). Let me know if you've heard of this type of motor before, as I never have. The music in this video is all from Wintergatan, a great band which I recommend you check out, specifically their Marble Machine song. The songs in this video were: "Local Cluster", "Olivier", "Music Box, Harp & Hammered Dulcimer", "Moon and Star", and a short excerpt from the "Music Machine Mondays Theme Song" similar to the one Martin used in Music Machine Mondays. All of these can be found on the Wintergatan bandcamp page, and are completely free to download: https://wintergatan.bandcamp.com/
