It's a simple setup that can achieve a very emotional and cinematic look. It's one light angled at a 45* to hit the subject's face on one side. It casts a shadow on the nose creating a triangle on the cheek. Use diffusion to soften the light. When positioning your subject, it's easier to move them than it is to move the light.
