REDD Watch: Indigenous Perspective on the REDD Mechanism. As the effects of climate change become increasingly threatening around the globe, immediate action for the formulation of mitigation and adaptation methods has become one of the most prioritized agendum in world talks. When Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and forest Degradation (REDD) was proposed in the UNFCCC, it sounded like the ideal solution to the destructive phenomenon. However, this became a controversial subject that inspired talks among nations, most especially to indigenous peoples. REDD Watch is a film that showcases the testimonies of indigenous peoples all over Asia on the proposed mitigation strategy on the intensifying changes in climate. This project serves as a tool for dissemination about the impacts of REDD on countries that already implement it and on the possible effects it may bring to indigenous peoples. This video is a project of the Asia Pacific Indigenous Youth Network and Land is Life.
