The trail is endless, just the way I love it. Canning Stock Route 2017, part-4. 4wd Australia Outback. Our night's camp is on the crest of one of the thousand red dunes on the route. We find grass gathering under the Land Cruiser 200, and we make a plan to prevent it happening further. We find camp site paradise between old Desert Oak trees and begin a quest o stop a very annoying rattle that's emerged, and it driving me crazy. This episode concludes at well 33, just before the village of Kunawarritji. The subject of this series: WE HAVE JUST completed one of the world’s longest and remote public tracks. (July 2017). This is the fabled Canning Stock Route. The Canning Stock Route is long, tough, rough but beguiling in its beauty and variety. The Canning Stock Route is a track that runs from Halls Creek in the Kimberley region of Western Australia to Wiluna in the mid-west region. With a total distance of around 1,850 km (1,150 mi) it is the longest historic stock route in the world. Once used as a route for cattle droves following a series of wells, it is now mainly used by adventure seekers looking for a challenge and solitude in the Australian outback. The last cattle drove the route in the 1930's.
