Beauty in a ragged part of the Mandelbrot Set. Dropping into the influence of this mini-brot in this area usually results in quite rough shapes. This colouring technique makes these lines black, and the classical beauty of the 2nd order shapes becomes red. The colouring technique is known as Distance Estimation, which colours the image based on how close to the set we are. Slopes are also added. Please hit subscribe!
I actually rendered this data a long time ago, but I couldn't make a nice video with the colouring technique. I'm managed to work out how to get slopes and DE looking pretty smooth with the After Effects plug-in I have recently written. Actually, this video is much smoother than even my last, I've managed to find away to avoid some ugly artefacts that After Effects was generating while scaling. So anyways, I'm pretty happy with how things are coming along.
I hope you don't mind that I've recycled the music selection from a previous couple of videos, but I think it fits it well. (Besides choosing music takes a long time; time that I'm using to code).
Software: Kalles Fraktaler & my own plug-in for After Effects.
