The video plays just fine from here. Here is the specs for the iMac i use: iMac 27" 3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7 16GB 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM - 4x4GB 2TB Serial ATA Drive + 256GB Solid State Drive AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5 It only uses about 120% (out of 800%) to play the video from YouTube. The reason for encoding the video and a few other that I have, who knows what is in the near future for the consumer for video playback, 4k-8k? Yes, I know I don't have the proper display to playback the video. I'm preparing for the future. Quicktime h.264 won't encode 4k video which produces an error. Quicktime lacks the ability to changes the h.264 settings. x264 allows for this and the video quality is better, which I use instead of the Quicktime h.264 plug-in. It took me a little time for me to figure out the right settings for the encoding without getting an error. The Handbreak program will encode 4k video. It much slow than x264. Handbreak has the ability to change the encoding specs, but not as much as plug-in x264 has...
