The Raspberry Pi 3 Model A+ was launched by the Foundation on 15th November 2018. It is probably the last Pi model using the classic board layout with this particular Broadcom family of chips.
The A+ is a cut down Pi 3 Model B+ and is almost the same but has the Ethernet and three USB ports removed. This makes the board smaller and reduces the power consumption.
Compared with previous models it gains the quad-core CPU and improved thermal management of the Pi 3 B+.
