Shake down cruise of a home recirculating aquaculture system that is about 95% complete at the time of the video. The black barrel will contain filter media that wills support beneficial bacteria to clean the water of nitrates. The red barrel is not complete, but is a settling tank for solids. A second airlift siphon will return water to the tank. The red barrel will be stuffed with netting to slow the flow and allow waste and uneaten food to settle out of the water column. I used a similar system years ago to grow hundreds of tilapia in the 700gallon tank. This new system will be used to grow the giant prawn, Macrobrachium rosenbergii.
