Randy is, well, random, living up to his name. He throws the oddest things at us at the oddest times: Raids, chicken eggs from the sky, heat waves — whatever, really. Lots and lots of whatever, at the strangest times. Our job? Build a colony and survive against, if not overwhelming odds, at least very random ones. In THIS episode, I apologize to Kirill. Kirill killed our pet warg in Part 2; I blamed him, but the fault was mine! We also try to get our work orders sorted out, start building some bedrooms, and I drop a whole load of fail on the cooking front. Our colony is called Crescent Canyon. Who’s in it? I’m glad you asked! We have: - Sam Wissa. He used to navigate his fighter craft among the stars, but now he’s grounded on some backwater planet. Does he miss the glitterworld? Probably. But he’s doing the best he can, hunting for food, building rooms, shooting pirate raiders, and complaining about his bedroom. Hey, just because we’re on a RimWorld doesn’t mean we have to live like savages, does it? - Jon Craig. A hunter by trade and inclination, he used to be the worst shot of the group. Not anymore, though! Partly, this is because the group has grown, and we’ve added some awful shooters to the mix. Partly this is because he’s gotten better. And partly, it’s because. . . - Felix von Schild, Jon’s son, suffered a brain injury in the last episode. A bullet lodged there. Rather than killing him, though, it’s just slowed him down and hurt his vision and thinking. So he’s no longer the crack shot he once was! Still, he’s a determined worker, doing his bit to keep the colony going. - Next, we have Kirill Huffman. Having lived his adult life as a model, he’s unused to manual labor. He can’t do it. Not just: He doesn’t want to do it. But: He *can’t*. What can he do, you ask? Well, he can make statues. And he can talk to people. And he can play with animals. And he can. . . Nope, sorry. That’s it. - Finally, Sergei McCall. We met him in the last episode. An invalid as a child and an inventor as an adult, we’re relying on him for our research. And a bunch of other stuff, too, as one of the pillars of our colony has had his capacity cut in half.
