She has completed her schooling at Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan. She studied Mathematics at Jesus and Mary College, University of Delhi. She is an active golf player and also played nationals. She has done modeling for two years and then entered Miss India finals. In 2016, Rakul has started her own gym named "F45" in Gachibowli, Hyderabad. Dhruva is an upcoming Indian Telugu-language film directed by Surender Reddy and produced by Allu Aravind. It features Ram Charan, Rakul Preet Singh and Aravind Swamy in lead roles. It is the remake of 2015 Tamil movie Thani Oruvan. The movie will be released on 2 December 2016. Rakul Preet Singh has also roped in for upcoming AR Murugadoss Project. This untitled movie will have Prince Mahesh Babu in lead role. This is first time for Rakul and Mahesh to feature on-screen. The movie is slated to release on 7 April 2017. Rakul has also roped in for untitled Gopichand Malineni film. She will be seen opposite Sai Dharam Tej in lead role. She will be playing spinster, a go-getter young athlete.
