Railfanning Chicago & Surrounding Suburbs - 2/11/2018

Here are some trains around Chicagoland. Enjoy! Train 1: An Amtrak Lake Shore Limited set backs out Union Station into the coach yards. AMTK 62 - P42DC AMTK 179 - P42DC Train 2: The California Zephyr leaves Chicago on time with the usual consist. AMTK 52 - P42DC AMTK 146 - P42DC Train 3: Amtrak P42DC 151 reverses toward the wye with a corridor train set. Train 4: A frozen Metra set deadheads into CUS from the zephyr pit with a Winnebago pair. METX 199 - F40PHM-2 METX 210 - F40PHM-2 Train 5: Now in the West suburb of Berwyn, an Amtrak from the West heads through slowly with a tripleheader, including the Phase VI heritage unit! AMTK 189 - P42DC AMTK 135 - P42DC AMTK 184 - P42DC Train 6: A BNSF intermodal (probably the Z-CHCSSE to South Seattle) pulls out of Cicero with a 2x2 power setup including an ATSF Warbonnet! BNSF 4117 - C44-9W BNSF 656 - C44-9W BNSF 5205 - C44-9W BNSF 6685 - ES44C4 "Train" 7: Herzog rail inspection hi-railer truck 4252 heads east. This was a cool unexpected catch. Train 8: I now switch locations again to Elmhurst on the UP Geneva Sub where I am greeted by a rather new UP SD70AH 9028, the DPU on this train of Eastbound WSPX coal loads. Trains 9 & 10: Metra F40PH-2 130 leads an outbound into the station, meeting Metra 141 with an inbound. Train 11: UP C44ACs 6997 and 6657, both with semi-fresh wings and flags, haul mixed freight east into Proviso, with new John Deere tractors on flats in tow. Train 12: The mixed freight has just cleared as a vehicle train accelerates west with UP 7290 and another roaring C44AC on the other end. Thanks for watching!
