The best thing about this hotel is its location. It is the most centrally located of all the big chain hotels in Amsterdam - halfway between Central Station and the Museum area. Thus, everywhere becomes easily walkable. As with all of the Radisson Blu hotels I've stayed at, the bed was a little too firm for my liking. But everything else about the hotel was satisfactory. There is no pool (there are only a handful of hotels in Amsterdam that have pools) and the fitness center is a bit sparse (only one treadmill!). The hotel breakfast is absolutely dreadful and way too expensive. There are far better options just a short 5 minute walk from the hotel.
I would absolutely stay here again just for the location, but only at a good weekday price. The weekend rates are very expensive. Using Club Carlson points here is not that attractive as you no longer get your 2nd award night for free with the Club Carlson Visa. Also, on June 1, 2015, this hotel will require 70,000 Club Carlson points (used to be 50,000).
