In this video:
I record the nice flex of my subs at ONLY 40% power. I have no idea if the cellphone camera i used to record the video altered the movement of the sub woofer's flex or if that was really happening. Bassotronics the feeling of bass made the sub woofer flex like a water ripple effect.
This recording is the second video of three. I record up close and personal to show some real flexing (excursion) at 40% power.
Information posted below is the same information posted on "Quad Sub woofer Car Audio System (Distant View) (1 of 3)"
This is a video recording of my Quad sound system. Wanted to record some sub woofer excursion (flex) in the hertz range of 10Hz - 20Hz. My quad system can deliver more flexing power provided that i upgrade the alternator, have 2 backup deep cycle batteries, and a capacitor so i can take it to the maximum. In due time, i MIGHT pursue upgrading the system for more power.
Been having an issue with the amplifier turning off (protect mode) when i crank up the volume really high, same for the gain. This system REALLY POUNDS when conditions are right. I understand that the issue i am having, is a possible whole host of problems that i must weed out. It could be the system is NOT getting enough power for the seriously hard hitting bass notes, so as a safety feature, shuts the amp off for protection purposes and/or from draining the battery completely when it requires too much power. I am also thinking that the Pioneer head unit (receiver) is not cooperating with the amp, or vice versa. I will have to take some time tweaking mainly the head unit till i notice a solid cooperation between the two electronics. No, the amp is NOT hot when it shuts off.
