After a number of emails from concerned Jehovah's Witnesses have been received at JWsurvey.org, prompting the team to discuss growing concerns over the way Watchtower harvests and maintains data. In Europe, incoming legislation known as "GDPR" (the General Data Protection Regulation) has prompted Watchtower to circulate "consent" forms that seemingly threaten JWs with consequences if they refuse to grant the organization sweeping powers over their personal data. Meanwhile, a leaked video indicates that a new data-sharing system known as "Publisher ID" will soon give the Governing Body unprecedented access to detailed information on their loyal followers.
If you are a Jehovah's Witness in the EU, and you wish to complain to your nearest data protection authority about the way your data is being handled, you will find contact details for your country on this page: http://ec.europa.eu/justice/article-29/structure/data-protection-authorities/index_en.htm
