The Summarize spoken text question type in the Listening section of the PTE Academic tests your ability to understand a spoken text and then write a summary of it. The summary should be such that anyone who has not listened to the text can still get the main ideas of the text by just reading the summary. This is a test of your Listening as well as Writing skills. You will have 10 minutes to write your response as soon as the audio stops. Make sure you are attentive and ready to listen as soon as the audio starts playing. Try to understand the meaning and take some notes. Use the 10 minutes wisely to summarize the spoken text. Spend the first couple of minutes putting the key ideas into the text box and the next few minutes connecting them together.
